Larvicide Treatment

The optimal breeding area for mosquitoes can be created by areas of standing water. Mosquitoes lay their eggs on water surfaces or near the water edge and the eggs can survive under most conditions, therefore many species can continue over winter as eggs, others as larvae or adults. The mosquito eggs can stay dormant for up to five years and once the eggs hatch, they become larvae then full-grown mosquitoes over a period of 7-14 days.

Our trained technicians carry with them larvicide – a pelletized product – that can be applied to areas of standing water like small ponds, swamps, marshes or flooded areas. By treating these areas of breeding habitats, the adult mosquito population can be reduced in nearby areas because it prevents the mosquito larvae from becoming an adult.

Mosquito Squad applicators treat standing water and any other potential mosquito breeding sites with larvicide to eliminate any existing larvae and to greatly reduce future mosquito hatchings.
